The prescreening cut off with 25 minutes left so I don’t know how it ends

The film was marketed more closely to previous big dumb disaster movies like 2012 and just about every other Roland Emmerich movie. This is not what the audience got though. I would compare this film more closely to Children of Men. I did find it refreshing that it took a more intimate approach and only focused on a few character's perspectives. There was an attempt at something more palpable and emotional. Unfortunately the cast didn't quite take advantage of the above average screenplay. You could tell this film was limited in budget when it came the visual effects and just didn't quite hold up that well. The movie was a nice couple hours of escapism, especially for a year like this but I wouldn't recommend or think it warrants a theater viewing.

It was fine. Nothing stood out to me that made the movie different from other disaster movies.

This movie was mediocre, with a predictable plot line for a disaster story. Husband loses wife/family when disaster strikes but saves them in the end. The action scenes and special effects were descent enough, and I enjoyed the cast of characters. 2.75 starts.
