An accessible and fun bit of high fantasy, even if you're not familiar with the source material. Those who know the tabletop role-playing game are treated to plenty of name-drops, Easter eggs, and subtle meta-humor littered throughout. Fair warning to the gamers: If you want to enjoy the movie to the fullest, leave your insufferable "rules lawyers" at home. 8/10

This movie is a treat for a lot of gamers and fantasy movie fans, because there are a lot of scenes that only gamers will understand or fans of the genre. It was also a treat for a lot of my inside jokes. It was unexpected to be as good. I felt like the movie understood my inner nerd. The only downfall is some lack of music moods and background characters.

It was entertaining. I went with my buddy who has NO D&D knowledge at all (I have a little TBH, have never played it) but the cast is good, the plot ok but the humor great.

It's a fun fantasy heist movie romp with lots of D&D tropes in it. The story is a solid Forgotten Realms story that references famous D&D lore for all the super-nerds, but doesn't make you feel like you missed something if you don't get a reference.\rIf you walk into this knowing nothing about D&D you won't feel like you're missing out on the "real" fun of the movie.
