Much more complex than I initially expected. It has you cheering him on, while you get frustrated and excited for him. Great storytelling!

Really does a good job at showing how a person has so many influences when trying to make a decision in reference to their future plans

I LOVED THIS MOVIE! I was impressed that it was an urban drama with no tragedy. The story did an excellent job of showing the dual worlds Boogie lived in. What came through the most is how both asian and blacks were all striving for the same goals and dreams Eleanor expressed it in her dialogue, and Monk played hard hoping for success too The best thing about the movie is the harmonious diversity! Asian man with a Black girlfriend -awesome! I loved the mix of cultures while each character was respecting & remembering their own heritage. Like the zodiac with love not fear.
