I'm not a religious person, so this wasn't really the movie for me. However, if you are religious, this is probably one of the better ones, but I have no experience to base that on. The acting is good and I enjoyed seeing some Winnipeg hot spots, but like I said, not a religious person.

True life story is wonderful. Movie version is choppy and many times, annoying. Poor casting. Most character are unlikable.

This movie presents a compelling story, but it is very weak in casting and execution. The characters very often seem to be simply reciting lines without emotion or feeling. I think the only roles that were well cast were Jason (the pastor), John (the victim), Tom, the rescue squad person that found John and the Fire Chief. Everyone else was stiff and lacked "substance".

It was an interesting look at an accident through a religious lens. I laughed out loud during the hand squeeze scene when the child was in a medically induced coma but somehow was waking up because of a miracle. The mother demanded the doctors help but only when it was convenient for the narrative otherwise prayer was the perceived savior. I believe the director and editor did a great job.
