Excellent movie and wonderful story. Reminiscent of Titanic.

"Sweeping, epic" is what the commercial I saw on TV said about this movie, and that is the best way to put it. In the tradition of Gone Wth The Wind and Dr. Zhivago (only 1.5 hours shorter than both). There's a bit of cliches running through here (miscommunication destroying lives, save the orphans, the hero cannot shoot a gun, lovers caught in a war), but if you ignore them, you'll be captivated.

I would recommend this movie because it's a story that has hardly been told. Well made and powerful. It's sad that religious persecution continues throughout the world especially in light of what is happening in Russia with the persecution of Jehovah's Witnesses.
