The premise of someone trapped and seeking to get away from an abusive relationship is a good storyline. I couldn't tell if this was trying to comedy since imo it would have been better as a horror story or serious drama. It just had too much guts and blood for a comedy and not enough body to be a drama. Nicholas Hoult did a good job with his role, but Nicolas Cage left much to be desired.

It has its moments when it was funny, the action was good and the cinematography was well done too. But a lot of the time I was sitting there bored like come on get on with it. Personally wasn't impressed and I like a lot of movies people hate
