Considering the content of the movie, Natalie Portman was good, not great, but good. The story line was awful. I couldn't wait for it to end. The ONLY good thing was the foliage and the colors. The cinamatography was beautiful. But that was it.

This movie tried desperately to be deep, but fell flat. The plot was weak and many scenes had the audience snoring. Natalie Portman channeled her performance from “Jackie” which was inappropriate for her role. The only decent elements of the movie were the cinematography and set design.

As someone who has read the book, this is a very poor rendition of what could have been a fantastic movie. That is my biased opinion. My non-biased opinion is that the movie had a good start, but then slowly went down hill. The ending was simply ridiculous. But the movie had some beautiful scenes and it had some very gruesome scenes. Overall, I was entertained!
