I loved the acting in this movie. I love Judi Dench so I was not surprised by that. I brought my husband who was born in England. He always appreciates a British film. I would recommend this movie to friends and family. It was entertaining, interesting and was shot beautifully. Thank you for the chance to see it for free!

Judi Dench has once more made this iconic figure engagingly human. Judi Dench plays Queen Victoria (again), bonding with an Indian clerk in a drama that seems uncomfortably cozy with empire. In the shift from comedy to drama the movie goes wobbly. The narrative of cross-cultural understanding by way of individual affinity is a comforting but ultimately dubious one.

It was very interesting, but a bit long.

I enjoyed it very much. Judi Dench was amazing as Queen Victoria!
