first half of the movie is very slow and could have been summarized in about 3mins.\r\rSeconds half of the movie is much better, but certain elements, like the roman character choosing to fall out of the truck and die, made 100% no sense and would not have happened in real life.\r\rNor would the CIA director choosing to go against orders & use the drones to bomb the taliban in the end at the CIA base.

More reading than I wanted but had a balance. It was challenging for how they came together or maybe that section need a little more length. Understandable he pretty much stayed for the money to send his child to school, really how tight was his money? It wasn’t as though the family was in a shelter, really didn’t depict really why the money was really important…

was fine in the technical aspects, but just felt very rote and didn't provide enough context for what was happening other than in too-broad strokes. you really needed to have a strong understanding of all of the factors and influences to understand the motivations behind all the opposing interested parties but unfortunately just selling it as an escape tale doesn't do it. "the covenant" was better

'Kandahar' is ultimately an idea that could have been elevated to greatness, yet felt trapped inside of B Picture Action Territory. \rGerard Butler once again showcases why he's an Action star and David Buckley's score was sounding. The ending went on 5 minutes longer than it needed to be and came close to an unexpected twist, 'Kandahar' is worth streaming when available on demand.
