It's the typical "end of the world" type movie with a good cast. It wasn't great, but it was good enough to watch.

At its heart, it’s a movie about marriage and family. That premise just happens to be surrounded by the apocalypse. Slightly more grounded in reality compared to your typically blockbuster disaster movies (2012, San Andreas, etc). Think of the flashback scenes of I Am Legend. It doesn’t over bloat itself with look-what-I-can-do special effects but it doesn’t skimp on them either. Greenland’s scenes of fire and brimstone take a more majestic approach. The acting is good. Any film with Scott Glenn makes it more badass, the beautiful Morena Baccarin gives believable tears, and the child actor isn’t annoying, he’s quiet and scared even though his diabetic plot device is the most cliche trope of the whole movie. Overall, a solid popcorn destroyer.
