Really awesome, smart and compelling. Cool to see this complex take on the way that different facets of social media intersect differently with users' feelings/identities/intimacies, and also cool to see the movie play with the formal narrative possibilities of having everything layered on a laptop screen. It made the suspense of the film feel less linear, in a sense, but still super effective and intense. Also the entire cast, but especially John Cho, were AMAZING.

There was nothing I disliked about this movie. There were multiple red herrings but they werent out of place or forced in. The acting was great. Learning about the daughter through her social media and how the whole film was only viewed through that was really cool. Compared to other films that use facetime/webcam, this one made it unique and relevant in todays time. The opening 10 or 15 minutes of the film was emotional and set the tone well. Will for sure be looking at future works of the dir.

Searching has a compelling and intriguing story. I really enjoyed it. Every single detail revealed throughout the movie does not go to waste but is nicely tied up in the end. It is brilliant, creative and modern, a perfect depiction of current times. John Cho and Debra Messing had solid performances, the best in the film. The characters were also realistic and relatable. The movie also has great pacing and a satisfying pay off in the end. Great film!

EVERYTHING about this movie was amazing! Searching is a movie in its own category! I can’t remember the last time a movie had me at the edge of my seat as many times as Searching did especially at the end. This movie is the definition of a suspense movie. I also admire the way the movie was presented, it definitely makes the audience feel as if we’re next to Mr. Kim trying to figure out what happened. I don’t normally write reviews but there was no way I wouldn’t review Searching! A MUST WATCH!
