Better than I thought, the story flowed well but was held back at times by poor writing and bad VFX. however this is a great film to put on with some friends and not take too serious

It's a hodgepodge of familiar apocalyptic scenes marinated in desperation and low grade effects. In efforts to appear as a fast-paced thriller perhaps, important details for the plot were rushed over and oddly placed. I also never connected emotionally with any of the main characters, because a lack of character development early on. So, I spent the final 22-24 minutes of the film laughing as the implausible scenarios increased, graphics became worse, and the dialogue amongst the characters weakened. Had difficulty understanding Gerard Butler's speech throughout really. I'd give it a 3 1/2 star rating for humor if I could. I did enjoy the giggles it gave me.
