Great ideas packaged into a misshapen box. Too gritty to be stylized. Too stylish to be hard grit that it was aiming for. A lot of interesting ideas that just stretched out about 20 minutes too long. Buckley and Bale are great as the monsters.

Very confusing and kinda hard to understand the plot.

I wish there was a maybe option for recommending. The movie was visually appealing, and not torturous to watch, but felt somewhat vapid. An endless stream of in-jokes and references to other films without much story or world-building. Many plot elements were so contradictory that in the end it felt like the movie as a whole says nothing at all. Perhaps the point was that stitching together elements of great films makes a monstrous mess, in the same way stitching together choice parts of corpses does.
