A very meaningful and informative film that embroidered\rSocial commentary with the progress of the story. It suffered from some artistic excesses that interfered with the flow and oftentimes a soundtrack that was too somber and ethereal.

Rosamund Pike was radiant in this movie. Her portrayal of Madame Curie glowed in every scene that she was in. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. The only part that was jarring was the flash forwards to times and places where the results of the Curies' work were on full display. While it highlighted the destructive aspects that would develop with their work, it seemed to disrupt the continuity of the narrative. All in all, though, the movie was a telling and vibrant story of the life of Madame Curie and what she gave to the world.

It's not your typical biopic. There is a lot of interesting imagery, like a dancer who moves like a flickering flame and the moments when we see how her work was used in the future. Parts of the film seemed slow while at the same time the 2+hr film as a whole flew by. I felt like I could have watched another hour of it or even a mini series. I would definitely recommend this film to others.
