I like the way that it portrays breaking out of societal expectations. The main character discovers an underlying talent only after experiencing what she deems as the worst possible thing ever. A woman on her own? This happens in a funny and charismatic way. Taking up a chance in a career that is male dominated only reflects how she always took the lead in her marriage anyways. Bravo!

Thought it was different, witty and charming. Marriage, family dynamics. Mrs Maisel had it all.

Funny with great comic timing. NY Jews make classic comedy. But also very representative of the rigid gender roles of 1950s America.
