A beautiful story about missionary work in Japan in the 1600s- definitely a movie many would enjoy!

Superb acting & directing. Moving, touching, funny, tearjerking, contraversial! My mother and I debated all the way home over the biblical aspects but both agreed it's a true work of art. Oscar worthy, Martin Scorsese!

It was a powerful, thought-provoking movie. I feel like I will be thinking about this movie for days. The acting was fantastic and believable. I was so immersed in the story, I forgot that I was watching a movie a lot of the time. I would highly recommend this movie.

I found the movie to be quite intense. The actors engrossed you in their roles which really pulled you into the story. Great movie!
