I am enjoying it so far. Is it 100% local to the source material? No, but I’ve been enjoying what they are building on to it. You can tell the actors really care for the job they are doing. I really love seeing all the little micro expressions. The costumes are gorgeous. I am eager to see where this goes.

Every adaptation of a book or some other source material is going to entail at least some alteration. As a fan of Tolkien's writing, it makes it a fun experience seeing what is ndifferent, but also all the many ways things are captured properly in spirit. There are so many things Rings of Power gets right and does well. The cast is amazing. I love everyone, though Charlie Vickers as Halbrand/Sauron is definitely a favorite. Can't wait for the rest of the season and the series moving forward.
