For once the trailer is the movie. If you liked the trailer you will like this movie. It is a good movie. Thhere are things that do not make much sense and could be changed but that is every big budget disaster film. Overall it i a good movie but there is a moment early in the movie that break some hearts if you are a parent.

I found it to be entertaining if not a little predictable. The visual special effects were well done. Not a total waste of my time. Gerald Butler does his usual performance, again entertaining but not award winning.

good action/adventure movie but not sure what is being addressed

The film is well shot, visually stunning, the family dynamic is the strong link and I had major anxiety during the separation sequence. Despite all that, I do think the film is your typical, generic end of the world scenario that felt very predictable at times as I knew exactly how the film would play out, but the family's fight for survival kept me invested. Even though it's a very small role, it was cool seeing King Bach in there as he is one of my favorite internet celebrities. Also, Gerard Butler's scottish accent in this film is legendary. If you are a fan of disaster movies like Deep Impact, Armageddon or The Day After Tomorrow, I would definitely recommend giving this a rental!
