What parents would trust their kid to carry his own insulin? Not a bad movie but WAY too many coincidences to be that great. They just happened to land that close to the base in Greenland? And then the soldiers just took them onto the truck with no questions asked? Kinda lame ending. Should've been some quick explanation like "some of the planes didn't make it, there's still room." Oh well, we don't really expect anything that good from Hollywood anymore, anyway. Thanks for the free movie.

It started off pretty well, but there were a lot of holes in the story (not to mention the timeline was all over the place). The main one being that the science wasn't well explained. Was it global warming that caused the astroid to get through the atmosphere when it hasn't in the past due to the ozone layers being depleted? Also, if they were in GA, but the worst of the astroid was to hit in Greenland and the military was tracking the trajectory, WHY would they cross the ocean to go even closer to the largest hit. Wouldn't they have built a bunker/shelter in each country or at least the US? Which brings up the utter disregard for other countries. Was it only North Americans in Greenland who got shelter because that's highly inconsiderate and a testament to American exceptionalism that is completely gross. The other thing is not once did these main characters say 'thank you' to the countless minority characters that literally helped THEM get to safety and some who gave their lives. Ultimate white privilege here - especially when the black army soldier had to explain to the white main character that wanted her to break the rules that she also wasn't selected. They never explained why the military had weeks worth of insulin vials, but couldn't take a child to safety - it was an arbitrary issue that seemed unnecessary. There were sweet moments like the grandfather (who I would LOVE to have seen more of - he was one of the more heartfelt and relatable characters in my opinion) who was in such peace and surety in the face of all these things. I also thought the dialogue seemed fairly natural, though illogical conversations about the bracelets did irk me often. Lastly, Greenland wasn't even mentioned until halfway through the movie and wasn't an actual character in the movie, so I would've renamed it something else. Overall though, this was entertaining but not as great a script as could've been. Too much going on with no satisfying character arc or reason.

There was a lot of action but a bit predictable. It did hold my interest and I did enjoy it.

Predictable plot but compelling characters. The energy did keep my attention but the crowd scenes were not realistic. There would be no way someone could yell above the desperate people trying to storm the gates. I didn't get the shootings in the store when she was trying to get the insulin. How they avoided being hit my the fragments of course is script magic. I don't think a 9 month shelter would be realistic. Just wanted a different take on a an apocalypse.
