It was a cute feel good movie. It’s reminiscent of movies from the 80s&90s, with a quirky main character and even quirkier supporting characters. Similar to the formula that made legally blond iconic, there was a strong female supporting character, in this case Gabrielle Union, to the fun loving, but hyper intelligent young woman, Emma Roberts. Where it differs is there was no overwhelming antagonist. Funny in a quirky way, cute summer movie. At times, it crossed into redundant humor, but overall was a nice distraction with a follow your dreams message. The rating is appropriate.

Silly but fun

I would recommend it for a light, silly comedy -- with lots of heart.

This was formulaic fluff. The message is confusing. The heroine, Rex, gets into the NASA program by writing a pleading letter to NASA, which her friend embellishes with a string of lies. When Rex finds out, she continues until the lie is exposed, up to coming close to killing herself. So, is the message to "Fake it until you make it" even if you put people's lives in danger & prevent competent people from getting the job? I can't recommend this movie. Kids won't get it. Too dumb for adults. People who worked hard to get an education and a job, will be insulted. Next time, DO BETTER.
