EXCELLENT! ACTING, WRITING, DIRECTION AND CINEMATOGRAPHY ALL FINE.CERTAINLY WILL APPEAL TO WOMEN BUT HAS APPEAL FOR ALL.. NICE TO SEEA PERIOD FILM THAT ONE DOESN'T FEEL SO VERY DISTANCED FROM.

Great acting!

Great photography and strong acting dominate this one, though the story is a bit whack. I never read it college so it might be worth a read for grins. BTW-any movie that can get ME to read is a good one. I will definitely tell my feminist friends about it for sure, very few good female characters in the movies these days, and I'm sure they will have read the book already (unlike me). Good job!

Very nice performance by Carey Mulligan and Mathew Schoenaerts. The screenplay was well done. The costumes and the English countryside was a treat to watch . Downton Abbey fans may wish to watch a very English romantic movie. Definitely a good literary piece seen on film. Kudos to the director.
