Powerful story, all the more so because it is a true one. Tahar Rahim was a revelation, he brought so much complexity to the role of Mohamedou Ould Slahi. Benedict Cumberbatch continues to show of his range as an actor. The film presents the grotesque nature of prisoner treatment at Gitmo without romanticizing it, or sterilizing it. This is an important film, one that reminds us of the importance of the rule of law, especially in cases involving the worse of crimes.

The acting was terrific. The subject matter was difficult but knowing it was based on a true story was eye opening. Enjoyed the film.

A very moving telling of one of probably dozens + dozens of stories of wrongly accused men. Morally bankrupt men (mostly) are torturing men of faith! Excellent in achievement if goal was to shed light on this Criminal, Horrifying miscarriage of justice. However, the character development was insufficient. None of the ‘American’ leads were given a fully developed character to portray. But the devastating circumstances carried the film, as did the talent of the actors and director. BRAVA//O!
