About on par with the original. It felt a LOT like 90s Burton - which I'm not 100% sure is gonna land with audiences in 2024. It straight up felt like I was watching a 90s movie with cell phones. The twist of the kid and his family had so much foreshadowing that I was surprised no one else in the audience picked up on it. Overall 7/10 (B- or B for me)

Cute movie but a bit underwhelming.

An entertaining movie with some of our favourite characters from the original movie. Beetlejuice seemed like a decent guy in this one, which was a little out of character.

it was fine. But it misfires because it misunderstands what made the first movie interesting. The movie gets way too bogged down caring about Winona Ryder and her family and backstory when nobody really cares that much about it. Just bring in some new characters and let Michael Keaton do zany shit for a while. It's the same problem that Star wars has, where the world can sustain so many interesting stories but they seem to think skywalkers are the only thing people want to see. It gets a bingo on the 2024 legacy movie sequel card cause it felt so formulaic.
