It was entertaining enough. A formulaic disaster movie that is pretty much predictable and the hero makes it in the end.

Unfortunately, the timing for this film is rough. Given all that's happening in our world this year, the film felt too real to life. Also, being Jewish, the early scene of people blindly trusting government to give up all their belongings and get on planes to take them to a mystery destination... seeing the inside of the planes... the news that anyone with an illness was rejected from the "Chosen Few"...reminded me of the trains in Poland, Austria which took Jews to concentration camps. To create a "perfect society" It was very painful. The special effects are beautiful! I can see Wrigley Field from my back porch, so it was fun to see my neighborhood melted. haha. I could see - what was left of - my apartment in that shot! That said, as I walked home from the Addison cta stop, past the famous marquis lit up for the cubs vs indians game... I felt a grateful sense of relief to see it in it's glory, perfect. And I want a man like John Garrity to fall in love with me - hubba hubba! Also... if they were in a bunker for 9mo... why is everyone well groomed? Why are the men not covered in hair? Were they able to shave, shower, get hair cuts down there? I would have preferred the ending to hit before the bunker opens... to leave us wondering if the Chosen Few survived? or were they also burned up by the hit? I didn't hate this movie, but it was physically painful to experience, given real life right now is a bit of a disaster film.

I missed the whole movie

It was the typical disaster movie. Pretty predictable. The special effects were nothing spectacular. I do like Gerard Butler though.
