Entertaining and funny. It brought some moistures to my eyes during the movie. Moving , both in the content of earth dying as well as separation from human contact and the difficult decision one have to make for the better of humankind.

Having read Andy Weir's novel, I came in knowing the major plot points. I was thrilled to see this movie sticked to the novel, both in terms of storytelling and plot! Nothing was added that didn't need to be there, no unnecessary romance was added because "audiences prefer it," just what the story intended. The visuals were stunning, and we were brought in to the wonder of space with our main character, which I appreciated. Congratulations to Ryan Gosling and everyone involved, this was a spectacular adaptation. AMAZE, AMAZE, AMAZE

I took my 9 year old daughter, thinking it may be too intense or the dialog may not be as accessable for her. I was wrong. It spoke to her inquisitive nature. We both laughed, cried and cheered throughout the movie. It had everything I could want in a movie, bonus points for inspiring my daughter with themes of scientific inquiry, bravery and collaboration. It's also fantastic to see an emphasis on the use of practical effects. It grounded the film so well. We need more of these types of films!

It’s exactly the kind of big, fun sci-fi movie I want more of. Ryan Gosling is great in it. He carries the movie really well and brings a lot of charm and humor to a character that could’ve easily been too serious. The visuals are also fantastic. Space looks huge and beautiful, and some of the science concepts are shown in really cool ways that make them easy to follow without feeling dumbed down. Overall it’s a really satisfying crowd-pleaser sci-fi movie. Funny, exciting, and surprisingly heartfelt. Definitely worth seeing on the big screen.
