It was a very good movie, show the determination of Father that Believed in his son dreams. Shows a 1st love and shows loyalty with a true friend.

It was awesome - deeper than a basketball story

What an amazing insight for a coming of age story from a second generation young Asian man, struggling to live in 2 worlds. Brilliant casting of this talented new actor for the lead of this compelling movie. I hope this movie sheds light to those unfamiliar with the pressures that children of Asian immigrants feel when raised in the US. I am, by no means, a sport fan, but I highly recommend this film.

A bit too much swearing for me to want to bring high school kids to watch. \r\rI enjoyed the movie though. I like the segment where boogie visited the fortune teller. It was short, but it was poignant, and her few words cut through all the noise about family, friends and culture, and zoom in onto what Boogie wants for him. I thought that was well done.\r\rI would have loved to see more character development of both of Boogie's parents. There were a lot of assumptions that I need to make about the parents and their backgrounds. Overall, good movie.
