Nice movie! Viola Davis never disappoints me. She was awesome in this movie too. The story is good and has some surprises. A bit long though.

Other than the ending, which I thought didn't quite live up to the high standard that the film set for itself, it was an excellent drama. Fine acting by all concerned, with the supporting performances of Daniel Kaluuya and Robert Duvall being the standouts among the cast. The characters were also exceedingly well-drawn, and the film even had a few unexpected twists. Steve McQueen delivered again.

The movie was a bit longer than it could have been. The beginning ran slow and a few parts were confusing and seemed like they were missing. The middle is where things started to pick up. I liked their twists and turns of the storyline. I'd recommend sitting through the long winded beginning
