It was a great movie with plenty of action, suspense,and drama. Good character development.

Really enjoyed it and loved the avatar type alien race!

Overall, a good movie. Remembering the source material is old allows for some forgiveness in some of the more generic plot points. The visuals were stunning and wonderful. A good adaptation of a graphic novel. The music was good, but not spectacular.However the plot WAS generic, though. It had the feel of Pocahontas and Avatar. If the story could have been beefed up, it would have made it a 5 star movie.Valerian (the actor, that is) wasn't quite as strong of a performance as he could have given.Seeing Luc Besson's vision translated into screen was a real treat, as it always is. The plot was a very nice breath of fresh air on a standard trope! Don't get me wrong, there was much originality. I just wish there had been more work on making the very core of the plot more original and less "a helpless group has been harmed, and the harm most be covered up" type of affair.Overall, I'll recommend people see the movie, but it's not a "must see opening weekend" movie.
