“If you don’t love yourself, you can’t love anyone else.” \rMary says. \rComing in at around 1 hour 22 mins it’s the perfect little peek into her life. The ups and downs… mainly the downs. \rHer mental health, substance abuse and relationships are for you to see and not judge. Now I never been a fan, in fact, her voice isn’t her talent to me. It’s her soul bearing that makes her a stunning star. She took questions after lasting about 20 mins and was very contrite and emotional. All you Mary fans will love it. Others… it’s a story we all can relate to.

A lot of ladies can relate to Mary’s struggles. Being honest about her life gives other women the strength and courage to change there situations. I’ve enjoyed Mary J throughout her whole career. \r\rThank you so much for allowing me to be a part of this screening.

Mary J Blige’s My Life is a deep and moving portrait of an artist evolving into a stronger version of herself. I didn’t know much about the artist when I began watching the film and was drawn further and further into her story. She clearly has been through a lot and some of it she holds back and keeps as hers but you can’t help but cry with her as she sheds tears remembering what she’s been through and speaks compassionately of the younger versions of herself. This all pours out of her through her music and deeply affects her fans, giving them hope and inspiration.
