Danielle Brooks gave an Oscar worthy performance, song weren't as entertaining/moving as I expected.

I didn’t know it was a musical walking into it. I usually don’t like musicals but I quite enjoyed this movie. I relate a lot to the main Character. Having lose two babies a boy and a girl myself and also going thru domestic violence and overcoming. I cried for her happy ending. Loved her character development. The movie was great I only deducted one star because of the lesbian scenes. I’m of Christian faith and I wasn’t fond of yet another movie having the “woke” agenda.

I love seeing movies that center Black stories, characters and historical narratives. Keep making them!!

Excellent Movie. Almost as good as the originial.
