The movie's trailer and poster already gave away the main plot change that's different from the book and original film, which is annoying. This version starts off well with an eerie soundscape, but the frisson of fear is not maintained till the end, which does get frantic. It also throws up an ending that's darker than how Stephen King imagined, which is no small feat.

It was a decent rendition for Pet Semetary. I don't think it was scary at all but it was definitely a drama that had some fun moments towards the end. I don't think it was bad but I wouldn't watch it again.

Entertaining film overall, expected a bit more “scary” scenes, however I enjoyed the added comedic value. Definitely recommended it to friends who would appreciate the nostalgic value of it.
