The number of good music films is so scarce, they can probably only be counted on a subatomic level. Fortunately, this is one of them. So many music biopics use an artist's soundtrack to save a poorly executed script with all the same predictable paint-by-numbers cinematic tricks. Yes, the music in Back to Black is all there, but it's used to support and elevate what is already a great film about a girl, a guy, and her family... and it does it really well.

Was not a big fan of singer but film seemed well done in previews. It was a good, well done movie and I have a new respect for Amy Winehouse due to it.

Enjoyed the acting, story and music. Big thumbs up. Might have been a little too much making her (and her inner circle) seem like a hero, but overall very good, and I am a fan of Amy Winehouse already.

I have been an Amy Winehouse fan since rehab launched in the US and have all the albums including Lioness. A voice among legends. The film captured her spirit and I feel the actress portrayed her beautifully. It wasn’t a documentary so I feel the use of actresses voice made since in that context. It let us delve a bit deeper into why she chose her hairstyle and who influenced her beyond singers (Nan). I loved it and the soundtrack was FIRE!!
