You could see a lot of the plot twists coming until the end. The reversal did not quite make sense, how did he (Al) slip the one cuff? He likely would have clocked her, not done the pillow reversal. I can see her backing up her plan (we've see that before) and if she doesn't turn it off it alerts the authorities and everyone else.Finally, if she had that many encounters with men, some one would have talked that lived and too much DNA if she killed all the others. You can guess what I did for a living.

Movie was very slow and took too long for action. The ending was a surprise and the theme of revenge rape was unique. It seemed unrealistic that the main character had so many victims but did that in a small area of town, seems like she would have been recognized more often by past victims. Obsession with her friend's killer ruined her life. It was shocking to find out that the guy she dated was also in the rape video. Nice twist.

Promising Young Woman is a film with a great concept. It's difficult to watch in many parts, but that's what makes it effective. It makes many great points about rape cultural and the failings of the justice system. The performances by the actors, especially Carey Mulligan are fantastic. It did, however, feel like something was missing from it. It ended up falling short of where I expected it to go and becoming more like a genre film. I would recommend it, but only to certain people, and only after a trigger warner. I give it 3 and a half stars.

Very interesting premise and ideas but too over the place for me. The ending was good but the middle of the story felt aimless.
