Charming and empathetic, though it becomes somewhat uninteresting at a few points.

I’d recommend it to someone who likes romance films (should be rated-R, not PG-13). The main story was too cliché and the characters were also extremely typical. The one thing that set it apart was the concept of a including deaf family (I think that was amazing), but the story could have been improved. It’s hard to “connect” with the main character when you already know where the story is headed.

Really enjoyed it, but felt it should be clearly stated at beginning as well as in credits that it was very much inspired by and almost a remake of La Famille Belier. Appreciated having deaf rather than hearing actors in three principal roles, but did love Karin Viard and Francois Damien in the French film. Unclear why Americans feel it's necessary or a contribution to pretty much "remake" an....
