Well done. A bit slow in some places, but absorbing story and good performances. Especially liked seeing the real people in the end.

This movie was very good. The director allowed us to see the "prisoner's" point of view while allowing the the lawyers, played by Jodie Foster and Shailene Woodley, to be in the background as the story unfolded. Although Benedict Cumberbatch's character was compelled to do the 'right thing', the show of government disapproval was apparent throughout the film. The film was thought provoking without redundancy. I enjoyed it especially because it was based/inspired by a true story.

The way this film handled them researching as his past unfolds in front of us is great to get it from his point of view. In giving this depth and not only seeing, but you feel your there while he is tortured I had to look away at times. That's the reaction I should have. I was close to tears towards the end. This film did well what it wanted to convey.
