Thought provoking story with a pessimistic view of a possible near future.

Being an avid reader of King, this is the best King adaptation since 2019s Doctor Sleep. The Long Walk ultimately has two messages to its story arc, the first and obvious is a commentary on the American need for egregious entertainment, even if it means blood sport. Secondly, and most importantly, is the story of male bonding at its heart. This is the substance to the story that elevates it into a fine film indeed.
