I would recommend PYM to some people.

Solid debut film from Emerald Fennell. Shocking without being gratuitous, but some subtlety in the delivery of the overall message might've resulted in a harder hitting film. Carey Mulligan is excellent.

I love the idea of this movie, but honestly it could have been pushed so much harder. In a movie about sticking it to men, it's upsetting that the only violence we see is being done to women. I could write a dissertation on the infantilization imagery in the movie though; it's got a lovely veneer. I watched it with my boyfriend and he felt male guilt so it at least accomplished what it set out to do.
