I loved the film. Judi Denchs portrayal of Queen Victoria was realistic and moving. I loved the friendship between Queen Victoria and Abdul, very believable

A moving story that sheds considerable light on the British occupation of India, even though nearly the whole film takes place in England. Two people from vastly differing backgrounds learn to trust and rely on each other and, in the process, become the best of friends. Judi Dench is outstanding (isn't she in every role!?) as Victoria. Ali Fazal excels as Abdul Karim who is brought to London to participate in Victoria's Jubilee and stays to become her faithful servant and companion.

Very well done.
