Stacked cast with Jonathan Majors and Tessa Thompson giving standout performances. Nuanced take on the complex relational dynamics within the black community.

Nothing new here. Jonathon Majors does a great job but the story seems very formulaic.

Uneven directorial debut from MBJ. Solid enough premise. Jonathan majors is a real talent. Now as far as some of the scenarios in the movie go - his boy coming out of prison couldn’t beat the young champ. The movie would have been better served having him run through a bunch of fighters in short order to establish who this guy is. The fight going into the shadow realm took us out of the excitement of the fight and was such an odd stylistic choice. The movie is overall enjoyable enough but pales in comparison to the original creed

The movie is entertaining but many parts of the film feel rushed. The relationship between the two boxers should have been explored more. Also the reason for the last match did not make sense. The good points are the action. The choreography is great when they box. It is not great as the first one but still a solid outing and great way to go out.
