Great costumes! Story line not so much. Some of the scenes were far fetched. The Queen would have never been that close to the commoners in the final scene. Her bad guy henchman would have absolutely put a bullet into Chevalier in that scene as well.

Inspired by a true story, "Chevalier" brings to the public the biography of the black composer Joseph Bologne. The dramatic story is predictable and feels shallow, but on the good side the music compositions as well as the costume designs were well done. Overall, not bad but it could have had a better screenplay.

the good:\r- based on history of a little-known figure; piques my interest to learn more\r- makeup, hair, costume\r- production design\r- doesn't shy away from racism as it is still relevant in 2023 especially in the US\r\rthe bad:\r- pacing. Monotone throughout the move. \r- too much focus on romance; should have shown on other achievements beyond just music
