GREAT MOVIE

I wasn’t sure if a movie like this could be interesting enough to hold my attention but the story line was good. I genuinely wanted to find out what would happen to the teen who carried the great responsibility of helping her deaf family make a living and try to fit into the greater community. The actors did a great job of balancing subtle jokes, hardships and emotions.

It was a good movie and helps others understand the issues that people with handicaps face, so hopefully it teaches other to not bully! I liked that it also added humor and family love just like other’s families not just to feel sorry for others who are different.

Formulaic? Yes. Enjoyable? Very much so. In a nutshell, a story about a family that has to make choices and overcome obstacles related to being deaf. An excellent ensemble of actors who performed their roles impeccably. As in any good family drama, there were light comedic moments, tough hard to watch moments, and moments that welled up tears.
