They say Daniel Day-Lewis cowrote the movie. He should stick with acting. Multiple times I was going to get up and leave, but I just had to sit and see what happened, falsely thinking it had to get better. Next time I will trust my instincts. The movie didn’t make sense. It’s like they just threw lines together to say something, but no cohesion to it. I’m glad it was free. Don’t waste your hard earned money to go see it. Sean Bean must be a good friend of Daniel’s to have also been in the movie. His character is more of a decoration for Daniel Day-Lewis‘s character.

I got lost along the way. It just didn't peak my interest at all whatsoever.

This movie had very little dialogue which isn’t totally the worst thing about the movie. The lack of happenings coupled with no dialogue made this movie hard to stay awake for. I’m happy the ending showcased the main characters return to home but I would have loved to see the other side of that. Too much time was wasted on the build up to that moment, which was complete nothingness. Hard pass for me.

despite being a huge fan of DDL and the great performances, i couldn't take more than 3/4 hour. i found it dark, slow, difficult to hear and understand the accents. i think a lot of canadians have had enough of the abuse theme between church and native american residential schools. but, thanks for the opportunity to enjoy film! yvonne
