It felt a bit like 2 movies to me because the first half is very light & comical and the second half is very dark. I got confused at the point where the investors are supposed to start seeing returns on their shorts but instead start panicking themselves that they're going to lose everything they invested. Didn't understand why. I would have loved more of the witty cameos to explain.

Incredible acting, especially from Christian Bale and Steve Carell. The story does a really good job of making a terrible situation very entertaining the entire way through.

The movie is an eye opener for me who purchased a home in 2006. Now I understand why my mortgage has been passed to about three diffierent mortgage firms. Secondly, for those who do not understand banks, stocks, stock options, finance, it is a bit overwhelming to follow the corruption. Regular businesses fail too but the owners do not get millions and millions of bonusses for failed management.and cause families to go bankrupt because these kinds of schemes.

It showed how the housing crisis was started.
