Kind of a strange movie but the music was good

The cinematography, costuming and score were beautiful. I would reccomend this movie with the caveat to not expect a happy ending (for those unfamiliar with the story). Margot Robbie stole to film with her incredible performance

The set design for the movie was the best thing about it. The imagery had definitely invoked heavy sexual themes which helped served the characters but other than that I felt like the movie needed more substance. At times, it just felt like I was watching Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi have sex all the time. I would have liked to see more scenes where they are genuinely spending time with each other instead of them just having sex. I probably would not recommend this movie to most people but if you are looking for something visually interesting. Also, Isabella was a highlight.

I read the book in anticipation of the movie, and based on the trailers, I already knew it wouldn’t be a faithful adaptation. Still, the book is a stark exploration of toxic, manipulative behavior, with no character offering a true redemption arc. The film leans far more into comedy than the source material, which made the emotional reactions at the end—especially seeing people cry—genuinely perplexing. I love romance, but I have no interest in a Heathcliff-and-Catherine–style love story
