Shows how humans are capable of horrible acts in the name of war, revenge politics and religion. It also shows that there's are good people that will do the right thing and persevere through the worst obstacles. It was incredible to see a smile out of a human being that has been so traumacticly abused. No human being deserves that for their beliefs religion or politics.

Great film, with a very strong performance by all the leads, esp. Jodie Foster. Such an important history that needs to be shown, and in an evenhanded treatment such as this film. It really humanizes the importance of justice and rule of law, in the context of human life. We may never know the extent of how terrible the abuses may have been in Guantanamo but this film goes a long way to bringing that to light. Thank you Hollywood for seeking justice and truth on the big screen.

I felt sympathy for Mr. Slahi. His story was presented effectively. He was mistreated for more than 14 years, and while in shackles and blindfolded as he boarded an aircraft to take him home to Mauritania, he managed to produce a genuine smile for his imminent freedom.

Excellent movie. An informative story everyone should know about.
