I found it exhausting. Every scene 500 people. No focus. And the animation. And the girl that played nina had zero chemistry with that underwhelming benny. The new ending was just weird. As was the lottery ticket change. I did like the usnavi, sonny, vanessa. And daphne Rubin Vegas was fantastic. Olga was excellent.\rA complete lack of intimacy compared to the Broadway production. \r

I am a huge fan of the stage production so many of the productions that were cut broke my heart. I think the stories of each group became very disjointed and didn’t show a connection. I watched it with people who had no connection to the stage production and they became lost in the story line. The music and the ensemble numbers were great. I loved how the original Abuela was in the movie. \r

I went in with high expectations. The trailers for the film and the talent in front and behind the camera are incredible. However, other than Anthony Ramos's performance and a solid supporting cast, the film is without a plot which the original show does have. The film is also at least 30 minutes too long (Lin's ice cart scene is about 9 minutes and does absolutely nothing for the film).

One of the prettiest movies I've ever seen. The visuals and camerawork are unmatched by any modern movie musical. The cast is stellar, and while there are things I wish had transferred from the musical, and things I would have changed, I'd still recommend this to anyone who asked.
