Interesting to know what actually happened.

Great movie but the story was sad. I cannot believe that our government took away 14 years and 2 months of this man's life. No apology? No compensation? He won his case yet we kept him detained another seven years???? No wonder why so many people hate us. :-(

0f the 800 political prisoners at Gitmo, only eight went to trial and three of those cases were overturned. Obama kept Slahi in prison for seven more years after he won his case.. But, the Bush Administration were the guiltiest because they ignored the legal principle of habeas corpus. An excellent film with two great stars in Jodie Foster and Benedict Cumberbatch . Very good movie, amazing that he got out of Gitmo. Loved the actor playing the lead and as always, Jodie Foster is great. Very well except for Benedict Cumberbatch, who was very stiff.
