My son went in determined to not like this movie for some reason...when we left ends up that he loved it and couldn't quit smiling when he talked about it.

This movie was visually spectacular on a level I've never seen, rivaling movies like Avatar or Star Wars. The market scenes, really well done. The underwater chase, excellent. The space ship parts, AMAZING! As for the actors, I don't think Rihanna was necessary. I think the chemistry between the characters was OK. Not sure the best actors were picked for the lead roles, but honestly this movie had SO MUCH going for it, I was able to look past the awkwardness of Dane DeHann's acting. The plot was good. It was basically a detective story, and that's why it was interesting and easy to follow along. The aliens were so well presented that you could not distinguish computer from real. Very impressive. Overall, I enjoyed the hell out of this movie. It was a fun time, and I am sure I will enjoy viewing it again in the future.

The film was visually spectacular. Although I saw the 3D version, I would think that the standard version would have had the same appeal. Comic moments were sprinkled throughout. Rhianna and Ethan Hawke were the only recognisable cast members. It kept me involved in the story line although the film was over 2 hours long.

I loved all the action, the interesting take and variation of aliens, and great special effects. The opening montage was a great way to start the movie (and gave context to where we are with tech and in space), and Bubble's dance scene was very fun/great CGI.
