It's great to see what newer voices with a unique vision can do when given enough resources. While I still think The Lighthouse is his masterpiece, Eggers has really upped the ante with this gorgeous, blood-drenched epic. I hope this film connects with audiences who love their Bravehearts and 300s but likes their sagas with more Norse witchcraft and folklore.

Intense and entertaining

I thought it was entertaining, if not as deep as Eggers’ other films.
