If I were to give my opinion based solely on the artistry and creativity of the animators, I would give this movie a 5 star review. However, I didn't particularly enjoy the subject matter. Too many metephors...too many hidden meanings...all with a dark twist. Call it a sign of the times as much as you want but perpetuating a throwaway society isn't something I particularly enjoy in a movie.

It was ok, it just seemed to try a little too hard but fell flat.

I think this movie is best described as interesting and well written. That being said, it absolutely will not be a mainstream hit. It's different than any other movie out there. If you like movies that make you think (similar to Being John Malkovich), this is one for you. About 7 people left the theatre before the movie was over. It is not a "feel good" movie but is absolutely award worthy!!

People don't understand artsy or appreciate "stop animation" - all things considered, the animation was well done (a bit crude with nudity & sex scenes); ultimately this movie was very consistent with Charlie Kaufman (more like adaptation than eternal sunshine). When I understood why there were only three voices (actors), that helped...but I'm sure many were confused throughout & right to the end.
